About this virtual meetup template

Online meetups can feel like watching a stream with strangers. This virtual meetup agenda covers saying hello, today’s talk, and meeting each other. The discussion slide asks what brought people here and what they hope to learn, which gives everyone an easy way into conversation at an online networking event.

The first meetup icebreaker asks where people are joining from, by region. Next, they say what they want from today: to meet people, learn something, hear the speaker, or find a job or hire. A random pick chooses who introduces themselves next. It suits meetup organisers, user groups and professional networks.

When to use it

  • Monthly online meetups for a professional or hobby group
  • Online networking events with people from many countries
  • Hybrid meetups with a speaker and an audience at home

How to use it

  1. Use this template. All 10 slides land in your Slides, free. Edit the text on any slide, change any question, or add your own slides from a PDF.
  2. Run it. On a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call, people answer in the meeting chat. In a room, they scan a QR code and answer on their phones. No app for anyone.
  3. See the room. Results land live, only you see who’s gone quiet, and a summary is ready when it ends.

FAQ

Virtual meetup questions.

Run a virtual meetup with a quick welcome, one main talk or activity and time for people to meet. Short icebreakers at the start help people feel part of a group, not an audience.
