Using Claryoo in Zoom
Claryoo is an AI co-host for your meetings. The Claryoo app for Zoom lives in the Apps side panel of your Zoom meeting: from there you add Claryoo to the call and follow the room while you run the meeting.
What you need
- The Zoom desktop app for Mac or Windows, version 5.16.5 or later.
- A Claryoo account. You can create one when you first sign in; new accounts start on the free plan.
Add Claryoo to Zoom
From the Zoom App Marketplace:
- Go to marketplace.zoom.us and sign in with your Zoom account.
- Search for Claryoo and open the app.
- Click Add, review the permissions Claryoo asks for, and click Allow.
Or, inside a Zoom meeting: click Apps in the meeting toolbar, choose Find more, search for Claryoo and add it.
Something not working? See Troubleshooting below.
Open the app
In a meeting, click Apps in the toolbar and choose Claryoo. It opens in the side panel. You can also open it from the Apps tab of the Zoom desktop app outside a meeting.
The first time you open Claryoo in Zoom, choose how to sign in:
- Continue with Zoom: approve the request in Zoom and you’re in. This also connects your Zoom account so Claryoo can join meetings that only allow signed-in Zoom users.
- Continue with email: enter your email, then type the 4-digit code we send you.
You stay signed in on that computer for 30 days.
Add Claryoo to your meeting
- Open Claryoo from Apps while you’re in the meeting. The panel shows the meeting you’re in.
- Optional: next to Slides, choose your prepared slides, polls and quizzes so they’re ready when Claryoo joins. Add slides opens Claryoo in your browser to make them.
- Click Add Claryoo.
Claryoo joins as a meeting bot: a participant everyone can see, named “Claryoo” (a custom name always ends in “(Claryoo)”). Zoom lets it in once you’re in the meeting yourself, and it leaves if you do. The host is asked to allow it, and it can only listen once they do; Zoom may show a recording notice.
As soon as it joins, Claryoo posts a notice in the meeting chat for everyone: it’s an AI co-host and it transcribes what’s said. This notice is always on. It also posts a short hello once people have arrived (on the Pro plan you can turn the hello off in Settings).
What Claryoo does with the audio: it transcribes the meeting as it happens (speech-to-text), and AI reads the transcript and chat to find questions, action items and how the room is following. Claryoo keeps the transcript, not video; the audio recording is deleted after 7 days. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
If your meeting has a waiting room, admit Claryoo when it appears. The panel shows each step until Claryoo is in, then opens the live dashboard and asks Zoom for a larger view.
During the meeting
- Questions: questions from the chat and the conversation (from the transcript), with the ones still waiting at the top. Mark them answered or skip them.
- People: who’s speaking, who’s gone quiet and who has left.
- Links: links people share, collected in one place.
- Follow-ups: action items as they come up.
- Ask Claryoo: ask about the meeting so far in plain language.
- Poll, Quiz and Pick a volunteer: run a quick poll or quiz, or pick someone at random.
- Present slides: run your slides, polls and quizzes one by one. Needs slides attached: choose them next to Slides in the panel, or make them at app.claryoo.com/decks. Every account starts with a sample deck, “Welcome to Claryoo”.
When slides are attached, Share screen pops Claryoo into its own window and opens Zoom’s share picker. Choose the window you want people to see, not your entire screen, so your Claryoo window stays private. Links you open from Claryoo open in your browser.
When the meeting is over, click End in the dashboard. Claryoo leaves the call.
Outside a meeting
- Start a meeting: opens a new Zoom meeting with Claryoo in the side panel.
- Send Claryoo to another call: paste a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link.
After the meeting
Your recap, decisions, action items and reports are in Claryoo on the web at app.claryoo.com. Open it from the account menu in the panel.
Remove Claryoo from Zoom
- Go to marketplace.zoom.us and sign in.
- Click Manage, then Added Apps.
- Find Claryoo and click Remove.
When you remove the app:
- We delete your Zoom tokens, your Zoom Access Key and your Zoom user and account IDs right away.
- The Claryoo app is signed out in Zoom.
- Claryoo can still join your meetings if you send it from the web, but as a guest, so it can’t join meetings that only allow signed-in Zoom users.
- Your Claryoo account, meetings and reports are not deleted. To delete them, email us from your account’s email address (see Support); we delete them within 30 days.
To sign out without removing the app, open the account menu in the panel and choose Sign out.
Troubleshooting
- Continue with Zoom doesn’t respond. Update the Zoom desktop app, then close Claryoo and open it again from Apps.
- The email code didn’t arrive. Check spam, then send a new code after 30 seconds. Each code works for 10 minutes.
- “Connect your Zoom account” or “Join the meeting first”. Zoom only lets Claryoo join for someone with Zoom connected who is in the meeting. Sign in with Zoom in the Claryoo app (or sign out and back in to reconnect), join the meeting, then send Claryoo again.
- Claryoo is stuck joining. Check your meeting’s waiting room and admit Claryoo. If the meeting only allows signed-in Zoom users, sign out of the panel and use Continue with Zoom so your Zoom account is connected.
- The panel disappeared when I shared my screen. Zoom hides the side panel while you share. Use Share screen inside Claryoo instead: it keeps Claryoo in its own window. Or reopen Claryoo from Apps.
- The dashboard isn’t updating. Check your internet connection, then close Claryoo and open it again from Apps.
FAQ
Does Claryoo record my meeting? Claryoo transcribes the meeting audio as it happens, and Zoom may show a recording notice. Claryoo keeps the transcript, not video; the audio recording is deleted after 7 days. See our Privacy Policy.
Will people in the meeting know Claryoo is there? Yes. Claryoo joins as a meeting bot named “Claryoo”, posts a notice in the chat as soon as it joins saying it’s an AI co-host that transcribes the meeting (always on), and Zoom may show a recording notice once the host allows it. You’re still responsible for telling participants and getting any consent the law requires.
Who can see the dashboard? Only you, the person who added Claryoo. Participants see what you choose to show, such as a poll you share.
How much does it cost? The free plan includes 2 session hours a month with no card needed. See pricing.
Does it work on the Zoom mobile app? The Claryoo app runs in the Zoom desktop app for Mac and Windows. On other devices, send Claryoo to the meeting from app.claryoo.com.
