Run in-person sessions where everyone takes part, on their phones

People scan a QR code and answer polls, quizzes and questions on their phones. No app, no mic. You see which slide lost the room.

Claryoo's in-person mode is an audience response system for rooms: no call, no bot, no mic. People scan a QR code, or type a short code at claryoo.com/join, and answer polls and quizzes on their phones. They can also tap Got it, Lost me, Too fast or Example please, and you get a private read on the room.

How it works

  1. Start an in-person session from your Claryoo dashboard. If you have slides, polls and quizzes prepared, pick them as you start.
  2. Show the QR code. Open Room QR on your laptop, or put the optional room screen on the projector. It shows the QR code and a five-character code for anyone who'd rather type it at claryoo.com/join.
  3. People join on their phones. Scanning is the only step. A web page opens; there's nothing to install and no sign-up.
  4. Run the session. Press Next to move through your slides, polls and quizzes, or launch a poll, a quiz or a volunteer pick whenever it fits. Phones follow along by themselves.
  5. Take a break if you need one. Pause the session and phones show "On a break", with the time you'll be back if you set one.
  6. End the session. You get a summary of how the room went, built from what people tapped and typed.

What people in the session see

Their phone becomes a simple, calm page with three parts:

  • Whatever you've launched. A poll or quiz to answer with one tap, or a volunteer pick they can join. When a poll or quiz closes, they see the results, and for a quiz, the right answer.
  • Four taps, any time: Got it, Lost me, Too fast and Example please. The page tells them plainly that only totals are shown.
  • A box to ask a question. It goes straight to you.

After their first answer, the page asks for a first name, which you'll see next to their questions and quiz answers. Skipping is fine; they stay a guest. If the Wi-Fi drops, the page keeps trying on its own.

If you put the room screen on the projector, the room also sees the QR code, the live poll or quiz, the results and the volunteer pick there. Your dashboard, with the alerts and the question list, stays on your laptop.

What you see as the host

  • A live read on the room. How many people have joined, and the running totals of Got it, Lost me, Too fast and Example please.
  • Where it got hard. Each tap is linked to the slide or card on screen at that moment, so Claryoo can tell you something like "The room is lost on slide 14", with a next move.
  • Questions on one board, longest wait first. Mark them answered as you go.
  • Poll and quiz results as they come in, and how many got each quiz right.
  • Room controls. Close the room to new phones when everyone's in, and pause for breaks.

When the session ends, the summary lists the hard moments, the open questions to follow up, and the poll and quiz results.

Running a hybrid session? Claryoo can sit in your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams call while people in the room use their phones, both at once.

FAQ

Do people need an app or an account?

No. They scan the QR code, or type the code at claryoo.com/join, and a web page opens on their phone. No app, no sign-up, and they never pay.

Does Claryoo listen to the room?

No. In person there's no call, no bot and no mic. Claryoo only sees what people tap and type on their phones.

Can I use it without a projector?

Yes. The room screen is optional. People can join from the QR code on your laptop or from the code, and they see poll and quiz results on their own phones.

How is time counted?

From Start to End session. Breaks you pause aren't counted.
