About this team training template

Good training starts where the group actually is. This training session plan template moves from where you’re starting, to the key ideas with examples, to putting it into practice. The discussion slide asks where people could use what they’ve learned in their work this week, so the session ends on action rather than theory.

A quick training needs check opens the session: how much experience does each person have? Next, people pick where they’d use the skill most, such as meetings or managing people. An anonymous poll at the end asks how likely they are to use it next week, which is honest post-training feedback. It fits L&D teams and managers.

When to use it

  • Teaching a new skill to a team with mixed experience
  • Running internal training that people need to apply quickly
  • Getting honest post-training feedback without a long survey

How to use it

  1. Use this template. All 10 slides land in your Slides, free. Edit the text on any slide, change any question, or add your own slides from a PDF.
  2. Run it. On a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call, people answer in the meeting chat. In a room, they scan a QR code and answer on their phones. No app for anyone.
  3. See the room. Results land live, only you see who’s gone quiet, and a summary is ready when it ends.

FAQ

Team training questions.

A training session plan should include the learning goal, a check of where people start, the key content with examples, practice time and a way to measure what sticks. This template covers each of these in ten slides.
