About this brainstorm template

Brainstorms often go to whoever speaks first and loudest. This brainstorming session template follows a simple brainstorming agenda: pick the problem, get the ideas out, then choose what to try first. The discussion slide asks a freeing question: if nothing held us back, what would you try first?

Live idea voting keeps it fair. The group picks up to two problems to solve first, from more leads to lower costs, then decides how bold to be, from a small tweak to a big bet. A random pick names who owns the first experiment. It fits product teams, marketers and anyone running a creative session.

When to use it

  • Starting a new quarter and choosing which problem to tackle first
  • Running a creative session with a mix of senior and junior people
  • Turning a long list of ideas into one experiment with an owner

FAQ

Brainstorm questions.

Run a good brainstorm by agreeing the problem first, collecting ideas without judging them, then voting. Keep the group between five and twelve people, hold back criticism until ideas are out, and end with one owner and one test.
