About this office hours template

Office hours easily turn into a queue led by whoever unmutes fastest. This virtual office hours agenda starts with what brought people here, takes questions one by one, then closes with tips and next steps. The discussion slide asks for the question people have been meaning to ask, which opens up the session.

The first poll asks what brought people in: a specific question, learning how others do it, curiosity or being stuck. The second lets them pick which topics to cover first, such as getting started or troubleshooting. A draw among people who type ASK picks the next question fairly. It suits teachers, product teams and anyone running an open Q&A session.

When to use it

  • Weekly student or customer office hours
  • An open Q&A session or ask me anything with a leader
  • Support drop-ins where many people bring the same question

How to use it

  1. Use this template. All 10 slides land in your Slides, free. Edit the text on any slide, change any question, or add your own slides from a PDF.
  2. Run it. On a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call, people answer in the meeting chat. In a room, they scan a QR code and answer on their phones. No app for anyone.
  3. See the room. Results land live, only you see who’s gone quiet, and a summary is ready when it ends.
